Born and raised on the Parducci Farm, our pigs, sheep and chickens live full, happy lives on our pastures and woodland, where they rotationally graze on grass and clover, and forage seasonally for turnips, berries, pears, and acorns.
Our animals enjoy a year-round supply of organic fruits and vegetables from the garden, organic hay from our fields, plus thousands of pounds of grapes from the winemakers’ vineyard sampling during harvest. We supplement our pigs’ diet with fresh whey, the nutrient-rich byproduct of a local cheesemaker. Chickens control insect pests, while our sheep fulfill the vital role of mowing down the weeds and cover crops growing under the grapevines during the winter and spring.
Because of their prolific ability to consume, digest and fertilize, pigs, sheep and chickens provide invaluable regenerative eco-system services, above and beyond what they provide us in the form of high quality meat and eggs. Our relationship is a working partnership, and in exchange for their products and services, our role as farmers is to provide our animals with the best possible diet and living conditions.
We have found that this diverse natural diet, combined with a peaceful life for our animals, results in the richest eggs, and most juicy and flavorful meat available.
Parducci Farm is located on a 15 acre parcel just west of HWY 101 at exit 552, and one quarter mile south of Parducci Wine Cellars. The farm contains one acre of orchard, two acres of row crops, and twelve acres of pasture and wild land. We raise a flock of 350 laying hens, 80 breeding ewes, and 8 breeding sows, who all rotate through the pastures, vineyards and surrounding hillsides.
Founded in 2012, Parducci Farm provides a year-round supply of fresh organic fruits and vegetables, one to two dozen eggs per week, and 25 pounds of pork per year to the 60+ employees of Parducci Wine Cellars.
Parducci Farm hosts over 500 students each year, from preschool to postgraduate, who receive firsthand lessons on organic agriculture, pollinator-friendly farming, and humane animal husbandry.
This year, Parducci Farm began offering limited amounts of its products to our local community. You can find select Parducci Farm products in fine dining establishments county-wide, including Crush Restaurant, Wild Fish, Big Chief and the Bewildered Pig, as well as Mariposa Market, Surf Market and Three Sisters Produce Company.

119 runners, joggers, and walkers participated in the 4th annual Crush Rush 5K Benefit Run hosted by Parducci Wine Cellars. The event raised over $6,500 for Ukiah Unified School Gardens and Nutrition Programs.
"Many runners commented that it was one of the most beautiful courses they had run because they were running through the vineyards, around the water reclamation pond and among trees as opposed to running on concrete," said D'Selkie Ukiah Unified School Garden Program Coordinator.
The run took place midway through the harvest of Parducci Wine Cellars' estate vines. Jess Arnsteen, Parducci Farm and Garden Director, said, "We're very thankful for the generous contributions from our sponsors; without them this event wouldn't be possible. It's terrific to see how supportive our local businesses are of our children and community." The sponsors of this year's Crush Rush were Acme Rigging, Friedman's Home Improvement, Realty World - Selzer Realty, The Golden Pig, Savings Bank of Mendocino, Ukiah Natural Foods Co-Op, Schat's Bakery, and Thanksgiving Coffee.
The School Garden Program serves 8 schools from preschool to 8th grade in Ukiah, reaching 4,200 students. Rochelle Enzler, Director of Events, said, "We are so happy to support the Ukiah Unified School Garden Program and their mission to educate our youth on healthy diet, nutrition, and gardening."
"Parducci Wine Cellars is a wonderful community partner involved in our school garden program," said D'Selkie. "We are so fortunate to live in a place where people care enough to support children, school gardens, and local food."

Forbes examines the history of various Mendocino crops and industries in a playful article that turns the spotlight on several longtime local winemakers and features Parducci's 2010 Coro Mendocino in its "Ten of Mendocino's Best Wines" list.
Forbes writes of the 2010 Coro Mendocino Parducci Wine Cellars: "One of the stand-out bottles from the Coro Consortium and also from the oldest winery in Mendocino. Rich and concentrated with crushed wild berries on the palate, dried herbs and warm spices all around. Decadent but nicely structured, not at all over-the-top. Threads of zinfandel throughout each wine lend a distinct rustic richness to the whole bunch."

John on Wine was "impressed beyond all expectations, beyond imagination" by Parducci Wine Cellars' eco-friendly farming and water conservation practices: "The grapes are grown in a fish friendly manner. The grapes are often CCOF certified Organic grapes. Some of the wines are even Demeter certified Biodynamic wines. Water is captured, naturally filtered and stored for reuse. Power use has been decreased and many energy needs are met through capturing and using solar energy. Packaging and labels are lighter, smarter, degradable, recyclable, and earth friendlier. Offsets have been purchased and the winery is carbon neutral. Pomace and composted waste is used in the vineyards for fertilizer. In a nutshell, Parducci and Mendocino Wine Company are the greenest wine operation in the United States."
John on Wine continues: "When droughts force extreme water conservation measures, and focus environmental concerns about fish deaths due to water being pumped out of rivers to protect against frost damage to crops, Parducci has created a ready reserve of usable reclaimed water. Parducci has demonstrated greater vitality in plants fertilized with free compost and pomace versus expensive synthetic chemical fertilizers. Owls living in boxes on the property naturally protect the grapes from hungry birds and replace nasty pesticides. Energy prices never go down, but Parducci is less reliant on the grid for power."
