2013 Reserve Chardonnay: "This elegant Chardonnay shows a nice balance between fruit, acidity, and wood. Green apple, lemon and caramel on the aromas. Lovely dance of ripe pears, pineapple and caramelized apples on the palate. We enjoyed this wine paired with a homemade mac & cheese."
2012 Reserve Red: "This approachable red blend shows aromas of ripe plum, vanilla, and hints of spiced rum. On the palate, this wine feels well structured, with pleasant tannins and acidity. Displays flavors of ripe blackberries, plum, baking spices and notes of wood. We enjoyed this wine with thick pork chops seared in the pan and finished in the oven; seasoned with a rub of kosher salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic."
2013 Reserve Petite Sirah: "This wine has a very expressive bouquet of ripe raspberries, violets, sweet vanilla and notes of coffee bean. On the palate, this well-crated wine feels silky with flavors of ripe dark fruit, black pepper and sautéed mushrooms. This Petite Sirah has pleasant acidity with a deep finish of ripe fruit and toffee flavors and smooth tannins. We enjoyed this wine with a Neapolitan-style pizza topped with pepperoni, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and fennel."
2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: "This robust Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of dark berries, red currants, toasted wood and hints of eucalyptus and wet slate. On the palate, this wine feels a bit chewy and well-balanced with bold flavors of dark plums, ripe fig, dark berries, and notes of earth."

Texas Wine Lover writes a sweetly sensual review of the 2013 True Grit RESERVE Cabernet Sauvignon, starting by removing the cork: "Even before pouring the wine in the glass, I already knew this wine was going to suit my tastes. In the glass the wine pours a deep ruby with a slightly lighter rim. The nose is quite layered for such a youthful wine showcasing notes of black currant, black cherries, vegetal notes, bell pepper, and menthol. The palate is similar, but offers up nuances of flamboyant black fruits, coffee bean, mint, and the mouthfeel is quite dusty, which is a complement to the True Grit namesake. This wine ends with a fairly long and supple finish on the back palate."
Texas Wine Lover continues: "My honest thoughts are buy it and drink it now for a youthful and complex wine. Cellar it for a later date to coax softer components from the evolving liquid abyss...this wine is very drinkable and offers enough substance to really get you thinking. It gets an A+ in my book for quality and balance, with a swath of complexity to swim though as you geek out and savor every drop of this wine."

Truly Net strongly recommends a pair of Parducci True Grit reds as the ideal bottles for a holiday family meal this year.
2012 True Grit Reserve Petite Sirah: "Flush with full fruit, this velvety wine has a bit of Syrah as well (8%) and just a touch of Grenache (1%). Aged in a mix of New American oak and seasoned French/American, it’s well-balanced and can definitely hold up to a few more years of time in the bottle but is eminently drinkable now. Official tasting notes mention 'white pepper and vanilla, followed by an intense rush of fresh blackberry, dark chocolate, pepper and caramel flavors'- but when we opened ours, a bit of time aerating brought out a bit more of the spice."
2012 Cabernet Sauvignon: "Classically built, this is a deep and dark, meaty wine ideal for pairing with the Christmas lamb, and there are plenty of tannins to work around and feel...The True Grit wines seem a drinkable embodiment of the Mendocino ethos with an Italian heritage- solid, uncomplicated, and satisfying."

Parducci winemaker Bob Swain discusses the unique attributes and history of Petite Sirah as a heritage grape with the Napa Valley Register.
The Napa Valley Register spoke with several Napa Valley winemakers about this pivotal grape:
“Here at Parducci we have been looking at petite sirah as a standalone variety for 50 years,” said Bob Swain, winemaker at Parducci Wine Cellars and Mendocino Wine Co. “The variety is interesting as a blender to bring structure and color to other wines but is more interesting on its own. The biggest challenge and its biggest attribute is the wine’s tannin structure. You need to tame its big tannins but also retain them to give the wine its core structure without being too aggressive. This variety, if made well, can age as well or better than cabernets here in California. We have examples from the 1980s at Parducci that are still alive and vibrant today.”
